Simplified Registration

Some model adapters support registering a model with a single click, instead of the full registration wizard (select model type, parse the model, review model objects, create a scenario, include time series, approve). This is referred to as simplified, or 1-click, registration.

What happens in one click

When you pick a model file whose adapter supports simplified registration, MIKE OPERATIONS:

  1. Parses and registers the model.
  2. Creates a scenario for it, and approves the scenario automatically.
  3. Applies default run dates to the scenario: if the model uses Data Assimilation, the hindcast/forecast split mirrors the model's own configured times; otherwise the run window is split evenly between hindcast and forecast.
  4. Copies all of the model's input and spatial output time series into the database, under /Models and Scenarios/<Model Name>/<Scenario Name>/<Model Object Type>/<Model Object>, tagged with the local machine's time zone (a freshly registered model's input time series don't carry their own UTC/offset information).

What would otherwise be a multi-step register-then-configure-then-approve workflow becomes one step.

Supported model types today

File type Adapter Scenario name Data Assimilation
.mupp MIKE+ Taken from the MIKE+ project's own configured scenario name. Reflects the model's own Data Assimilation setting.
.mhydro MIKE HYDRO Basin Not provided by the model - the scenario is named after the model setup instead. Not supported - always off.

MIKE OPERATIONS 2027

Simplified registration for MIKE HYDRO Basin is new this release.

If a model's adapter doesn't support simplified registration, the one-click shortcut simply isn't offered for that file type - the normal registration wizard is used instead.

Extending to a new adapter

An adapter opts in to simplified registration by implementing ISimplifiedModelRegistration (DHI.Solutions.ScenarioManager.Interfaces.Adapters):

Member Purpose
IsDataAssimilationEnabled Whether the model setup uses Data Assimilation mode. Controls how the default scenario run dates are split.
ScenarioName The scenario name defined by the source model, or null/empty if the model type has no scenario-name concept of its own (the model setup name is used instead).
PreConfigure(modelPath, modelSetupName) Runs before the adapter's normal parsing/registration, to prepare whatever the model needs for the shortcut (e.g. exporting files, reading the model's own scenario name or Data Assimilation setting).

Documentation gap

Earlier release notes and install guides have referenced a mikePlusAdapter.md#1-click-registration section that doesn't exist yet - this page is intended as that reference going forward.
