MIKE Workflows¶
MIKE OPERATIONS 2027
MIKE Workflows is the new name for this product area, previously known as MIKE Forecasting Workbench. Only the name has changed - see the Release Notes for details.
MIKE Workflows lets you automate MIKE OPERATIONS tasks - running scenarios, importing or resampling time series, downloading rainfall data, sending notifications - by connecting them into a workflow: a sequence of steps that runs on its own, on a schedule or on demand, instead of being driven by hand through MIKE Workbench.
Built on ELSA¶
MIKE Workflows is built on ELSA, an open-source .NET workflow engine. A workflow is authored visually in the ELSA designer by connecting activities - the building blocks of a workflow - into the order they should run in. Each activity performs one step (for example, running a scenario, or downloading rainfall data) and can pass its outputs on to the activities that follow it.
See Activities for the full list of MIKE OPERATIONS activities available to build workflows with.
Relationship to the (legacy) Workflow Manager¶
MIKE Workbench still has a separate Workflow Manager, built on the older Microsoft Workflow Foundation technology. Workflow Foundation only runs on .NET Framework 4.7.2, while ELSA is the workflow engine used on .NET 10 going forward - see the .NET10 vs .NET472 comparison in the Release Notes. The two are separate products today; which one is available to you depends on which framework your MIKE OPERATIONS installation runs on.
One-click registration¶
Some model adapters support registering a model and creating a ready-to-run scenario in a single step, instead of the usual multi-step registration wizard. See Simplified Registration for which adapters support this and what it does.
