Performance¶
MIKE OPERATIONS is loading time series, layers and thresholds of the current configuration into memory at startup, to give a better user experience.
Loading and threshold calculation is also done when:
- Changing the Observation Period Setup.
- Changing between Data & Maps and Scenario mode.
- Changing the current configuration.
- Saving the current configuration.
- Changing Unit Sets.
When "playing" a time frame of the configuration, data is taken from memory.
The following parameters will have an impact on performance when loading, "playing" and selecting.
- Feature layer size
The size of multiline and polygon feature layers will have an impact of on the maps performance when redrawing. - Time Varying Raster layer size
The size of time varying raster layers will have an impact of on the maps performance when redrawing. - Observation Period Length
The length of the observation period, and hereby also the number of time steps taken into consideration will have an impact on performance when calculation current thresholds. - Threshold Time Step Length
Short threshold time steps will have an impact on performance. - Number of feature classes
The number of feature classes visible on the map, will have an impact on performance. - Views
Any view visible to the user, will redraw itself every time the current time is changed or when a feature is selected. Note the following views:- Chart View.
- Time Series View.
- Document View.
