Main View
Main View¶
The Main View is a map based display of real-time observation and forecast results. Timeseries are associated to point, lines or polygons. Features are color coded if warning thresholds are defined, different forecasts can be selected and different result analysis such as longitudinal profiles, forecast uncertainty or summary statistics can be accessed in this view.
On the top bar, user can find navigation pane to navigate to other sections of MIKE OPERATIONS Web.
On the left menu panel, user can see the list of forecasting systems. If thresholds are defined, the system’s icon color will correspond to the set thresholds.
Upon entering one of the flow forecasting system, user will see the associated map of the forecasting system.
On the left menu panel, user can choose to view panel list by indicator or category. “By Indicator” allows user to view the forecasting stations, polylines, and polygons based on the indicators that are set by the admin user, i.e. Flood, Discharge, etc. “By Category” allows user to view the nodes by its categories that are set by the admin user, i.e. Stations, Catchment, etc.
Other functionalities of the menu panel include the search bar that functions to filter out keywords both on the list and on the map, and toggles that can be used to view observation points on the map or exclusively view the exceedance points.
Clicking an item from the list will highlight the node on the map and allow user to access the data.
On the right menu panel, user can select different forecasts and view result analysis. Forecast type and forecast selection allow user to choose a particular forecast. User can choose to view the result analysis on plot or table view.
After selecting the location by clicking in the map as shown in the screen or through the list, user can turn on the simulation output. The selected simulation output will be shown on the plot or table visualization on the right panel.
The plot view can be expanded for larger version of the plot.
User can hover the mouse over the graph to see the storage volume e.g. at time of forecast.
The storage timeseries data in tabular view can also be viewed by clicking on the View tabular button.
User can select, copy and paste the data into e.g. Excel to do further analysis. The plot view can also be downloaded as PNG for reporting purposes.
In the plot setting, user can define the quantiles that are desired to be shown on the plot. Once the quantiles are defined, they can be shown or hidden on the plot. The uncertainty range is calculated based on the default quantile in the Places configurations, which is Q50.
View exceedance probability of the selected simulation output, while visualizing the time of forecast.
The forecast is an ensemble made up from 20 different members (forecasts). User can click on Ensemble at the top of the plot to see each of the individual 20 forecasts.
The table view provides exceedance data of the selected simulation output, with its exceedance value, on-set and off-set dates of exceedance, and its duration. Maximum, minimum, and average value is shown. The table can be downloaded as excel.
