Database Management¶
Database management comprise the following steps:

Creating a new database

Backing up a database

Restoring a database
-
Deleting a database
-
Updating a database
These activities are handled with the Database Management Utility
in the Start menu.
Creating a new database¶
Click on the Database button and select the New... menu item for creating a new database. Specify a name for the database to be created.
Click Create.
Backing up a database¶

Click on the Server button and select PostgreSQL

Click the Ok button
Click on the Database button and select Backup menu item for backing up the database.
Select the required database and provide a file name for the backup file.
Click Backup.
Restoring a database¶
Click on the Server button, select the PostgreSQL menu item, and click the Ok button.
Note: The default values specified will in most cases be the correct ones. This section provides step-by-step instructions for restoring a MIKE INFO database.
Click on the Database button and select the Restore menu item for restoring a backed-up database. Specify a name for the database that shall be restored and select the backed-up file.
Click Restore.
Delete a database¶
Click on the Server button, select PostgreSQL menu item, and click the OK button.
Click on the Database button and select the Remove... menu item for removing an existing database. Specify a name for the database that shall be deleted.
Updating a database¶
When upgrading MIKE OPERATIONS, the database also needs to be upgraded to reflect new tables and fields added with the new version of MIKE OPERATIONS.
Before starting the update, it is recommended to take a backup of the database.
Select "Update..." and select the database to update from the list of databases.
After selecting the database, click "Update" to start the update scripts.
Workspace Status¶
A workspace must be online in order to access it.
A workspace can be disabled by setting it to offline.
Select "Workspace Status..." to show online and offline workspaces.
To disable a workspace, select the workspace to disable and click the ">>" icon to move it to Offline workspaces. Click OK to accept the changes, cancel to discard the changes.
Online users¶
Active users of a database can be shown if the workspace setting "KeepAliveFrequency" has been set in the workspace settings in MIKE WORKBENCH (refer to the System Manager help for more information about workspace settings).
Select "Online Users..." and select the database to display the online users for.
A list of online users will be displayed by workspace.
Database Size¶
Click on the Database button and select Database Size menu item to display all MIKE OPERATIONS databases with the sizes.
A list of all MIKE OPERATIONS databases with the sizes will be displayed by workspace.
